Located at the center of Honolulu’s major attractions, Waikiki Sand Villa is a family-run hotel that can be found tucked away on a quiet side street—giving it that lovely home away from home feeling without sacrificing convenience or five-star service.
With Hawaii being one of the most highly saturated tourism destinations in the world, areas like Waikiki are incredibly competitive for hoteliers. As an independently-owned property, one of Waikiki Sand Villa’s goals was to increase direct bookings in an effort to cut down on commission expenses from online travel agencies (OTAs).
Understanding Waikiki Sand Villa’s desired outcome as well as the challenges they face as a smaller hotel, PRTech worked on developing their website with the MyRez reservation system and launching a Search Engine Marketing campaign through Google.
PRTech not only handled Japanese website development, but the hotel’s English-language website as well. This meant reworking the content to speak to a larger and more diverse audience.
In order to encourage guests to book directly through the hotel website, we needed to ensure that the user experience would not be compromised. By setting Waikiki Sand Villa up with the MyRez booking engine, visitors still experience the ease of use that OTAs offer while being able to make reservations in their own language.
To increase online visibility, PRTech set up English-language ads on Google, marketing the advantages of booking direct and how guests can save right in the ad copy itself.
